Gomoku: five stones in a row

Gomoku: Five Stones in a Row is a strategy board game for two participants. On a square board that measures 19×19 (in the classic format) or 15×15 (in the contemporary sports version) points, players take turns placing stones of two distinct colors. The victor is the one who first creates an unbroken line of five stones of their color, whether vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. There are numerous variations, each differing in specific aspects of the rules. The game is thought to have been created in China over two millennia ago. Presently, the game is recognized globally; competitive events are organized around it.
